GCE RESULTS 2018 RELEASED!
Monday July 23 by the GCE Board
Cameroon GCE Results 2018 OL, AL General and Technical
Publishing the results on Monday, the GCE Board said 67.4% passed at the Advanced Level as against 35% in 2017. At the Ordinary Level, 50% passed compared to 25.29% in 2017.
The Minister of Secondary Education Pauline Nalova Lyonga Egbe, congratulated all the stakeholders for heeding to the instructions in organising a hitch-free examination and thanked the government for its sustained support.
Since the announcement of the release of the examination results by the GCE Board and over State radio on July 23, most parents are still upset.
One of such parent is Evelyn Mancho. Evelyn has three kids who all wrote the GCE Advanced. She said that the confusion in which the GCE Board placed her children goes a long way to taint the image of the institution. “My children almost developed trauma while waiting for their results. Having gone through stressful registration, tedious academic year and finally sitting for the examination, they still need to patiently wait for the results amid a number fake documents.
It is unacceptable that children suffer again like this to know their results.”
In the same vein, another parent who prefers anonymity says she is surprised that in this day and age of mighty technological feats, the GCE Board has still not been able to develop an online system for students to get timely and accurate results using their registration numbers.
To her, parents and students alike will get chronic stress because of the number of false and inaccurate or outdated documents being circulated around.
