The POSITIONING
Now, let’s look at a very important aspect that must be taken into consideration before carrying out the installation successfully, THE POSITIONING, yes the positioning
You’ll not want to install a satellite dish inside the room and also in a place where it can easily be obstructed by objects.
Make sure the area where you are about to install your dish is free from objects that can obstruct the dish from facing the sky.
ASSEMBLING THE SATELLITE DISH
After purchasing the dish, you will find a manual that will help you assemble the dish.
Watch the video that shows you how to assemble a new dish from scratch. Coming soon.
MOUNTING THE DISH
After you must have been done with assembling of the dish, it’s now time to mount the dish up, facing the sky with an elevated angle to start receiving free-to-air channels.
Some people mount theirs on the roof tops which is not advisable. Its better to get a wooden or iron bar for that.
LINKING equipment together
Now, link the LNB mounted with the dish to your digital decoder receiver using the coaxial cable. Connect the coaxial cable using the screws from the satellite dish (LNB) to the receiver. Make sure it enters the LNB input of the decoder.
SETTING UP
Now, at this step we are almost getting to the final stage of receiving our channels for free.
- Power up the TV and the receiver
- Press “MENU” on the receiver’s remote control
- Navigate to “SATELITE SETTING” and press enter
- Now select “TRANSPONDER” and choose a satellite, eg Eutelsat 16A, Sesat 1 @ 16 degrees East
- Enter the “FREQUENCY AND SYMBOL RATE”. For this example, we will use
Frequency = 11094MHz
Symbol Rate = 30000MHz
Now start rotating the dish from east to west and from a higher elevated angle to a lower elevated angle until you have a good quality signal indicated like the one below.
Note: Make sure you lost eye contact with the TV while rotating the dish. ( this the easiest and free way to easily search for signal quality.
After you must have gotten the signal, save it and return to the satellite.
Now press the button indicated for scanning on the remote and choose FTA (free to air) and also select “blind Scan”.
Now press ok and it should begin scanning for free to air channels.
After that is done, save it and start enjoying free channels forever.
