Interested in making 3D printed things walk? Here in this article, we gonna be doing just that. As a beginner, you have nothing to worry about as all the steps and processes are straight to the point.
We’ve got a 3D-printed walking robot printed out using the Anet A2 3D printer with default settings. Like we all know, there’re many 3D-printed walking robots allover the internet with similar nature but bear me witness, this is quite different as it incorporates another feature for its smooth movement.
What is special about this walking robot?
My version here includes a sensitive part (obstacle detection) that controls the movements of the robot in areas where it could easily get stuck or a jam on the wall. If an obstacle or an object is found 10 cm ahead, it automatically stops for a while then, move backwards for 4 seconds and stops.
By doing so (moving backwards), the direction is altered and the robot continue moving forward till it meets another object on its way.
To make this guy walk as a beginner, all you need to do is to download the .stl file for the parts below, then customize it the way you want, following steps too in the video in order to make yours. You can customize the files anyhow you want them (shape, size anyhow) for free.
